Hi TJ,

Try this as a way to force configuration of iMap for mail on your iPad: first
put your iPad into airplane mode and then proceed to set up your mail account
in the normal manner:

Navigate to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Flick right to "Add
Account…" and double tap, then flick right to Other and double tap. Now, when
you double tap the "Add Mail Account" button and fill in the Name, Email, and
Password, when you double tap "next", the "New Account" screen will have
buttons for "IMAP" and "POP" at the top, and I believe that "IMAP" should be
selected by default. This is because without an active internet connection the
configuration program has no way of telling whether your service uses IMAP or
POP. Go ahead and fill in the host name, user name, and password information
for the incoming and outgoing mail servers. When you double tap the "next"
button you'll get an error message because the network connection is turned
off. The first alert will say something like:

The IMAP server <your server address> is not responding. Check your network
connection and that you entered the correct information in the "Incoming Mail
Server" field.

Just continue to work your way through to save the results. The second alert
will say something like:

This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want
to save?

Go ahead and double tap the "save" button. Then, once the dialogs are cleared
out, navigate back to the Settings sidebar and turn airplane mode off. You can
do this either by doing a four-finger tap in the top half of the screen to the
navigate to the first element, the "Settings" heading, and flick right to
"Airplane Mode", or you can set your rotor to "Headings" and flick up to move
to "Settings" and flick right, then double tap to toggle the switch back to
"off".

If you've typed your information correctly, you should just be able to get out
of Settings and go to your mail app to find your mail messages.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

P.S. I used this to set up mail mac-access.net account email, so I can vouch
for the fact that it works.
