You can if you know how to mark up text and it syncs with dropbox so I can create a note in the notesy folder on dropbox and have it synch up the next time I launch the app. If I'm in air plain mode and I want to write the lyrics to my next master piece I can do that and turn off syncing and then hit the synch button when I'm next on line. I really love this app! There is also a full screen button you can hit so the notes area takes up the whole screen so you are not distracted by the status bar.
