I can think of a number of reasons why this would be the case. One of which being a lack of storage space on the destination media. Another being the format of the destination media. Another being the fact that the file is in use by an open application. I'm sure there are more reasons, but there are a few.
Regarding Boot Camp, I've been reading several bulletins on a couple of technical sites which indicate that there are problems with that application because of the Flash media which the latest generation MacBook Air uses, I believe. I'm not really surprised but I wouldn't blame Apple at all if they simply didn't bother fixing that issue and I'll tell you why. This is just personal opinion, and it's each to their own. But the MacBook Air was never designed to be used as a base station. It's function is far more orientated towards the "on-the-go" user who wants there machine to handle the native operating system plus any native applications they need to use. That's why they are typically lacking in the storage space which Windows and Boot Camp would gobble up. I'm hoping to acquire a MacBook Air for work shortly, and I definitely won't be installing the evil monster on it. :) Seriously though, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the firmware of the MacBook Air is causing problems with Boot Camp. I would imagine that, if you really need to use Windows on a machine like that, you'd be far better off using a virtualisation product such as Fusion or even a pre-configured version of Parallels Desktop. <--- Gordon Smith ---> E-Mail: <[email protected]> Telephone: United Kingdom: Free Phone: 0800 8620538 Europe and other non-specified: +44 1642 688095 United States Of America And Canada: +1 646 9151493 Australia: +61 38 8205930 Or: +61 39 0284505 Fax: +44 1642 365123 Follow Us On Twitter: <http://twitter.com/maciosaccess> Skype: <callto:mac-access-dot-net> ------------------------------ On 27 Feb 2013, at 10:22, William Lomas <[email protected]> wrote: hi all why does my macbook air keep saying files can not be moved? one minute bootcamp works the next it doesn't i am not prepared to restore the whole mac again just to sort out this issue it is crazy smile <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>.
