Brilliant I did not get an answer so I had given it up and gone back to using DVD Audio Extractor under Fusion which was giving very poor distorted audio results.

When you're choosing the tracks to be converted, there's an option to take only the audio track. After that's selected, it will then save the audio track only. If it doesn't save the output in a format you like (it's selectable at extraction time) you can drop the output into itunes or another audio converter to change its format.
