YOu can use the say command to accomplish this. As it reads everything use txt instead of rtf.
say -f filename.txt --progress -v voice name -r 250 -o filename.aiff f is file name --progress if you want that will give you a progress of what's happening -v is voice. I use tom -r is rate. I use 250 but you can go faster or slower. -o is output file I use aiff as that's all I know how to do. I then convert it to m4b or m4a in amadeus. I paste in the file name as it pastes the location and if there are spaces escapist them with the back slash character. Good luck.
