Actually I never saw the original for some reason. What I had to so was paste th enew track in to a new file, edit it, punch in to the best of my ability and then paste it back in to the multi track project. I had to basically silence out a portion of a track on both channels of a stereo file and that's when ran in to trouble hence the whole exporting the track to a new file. lol!
