I am sure that Apple and other companies will be looking for people to
use as "sampler" voices for future, screenreader or text-to-speech
programs. As an African-American, myself, I would like nothing
better, male or female, although African-American female voices are
probably harder to pin a dialect down because of different inflexions
from various parts of the country.

Hey guys,
Sorry for all the questions tonight, I'm just doing a lot of
computer work. Now, this'll be the last one, I promise. :-)
I know the subject sounds weird, but I have a friend who is looking
for a voice for voiceover on the mac that speaks, in her words, more
of an African American sounding dialect. You know, we have lots of
voices out there from different dialects from the U.K. and even
South African, Australian and Indian English. But I and my friend
can't find any real American dialects, like what my friend's looking
for in an African American dialect, or even a southern United States
dialect.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Laurel
