Hi Everyone!

Here are a few notes concerning the playing of music from an iPhone 5 to
another device using the USB to lightning connector cable as supplied with the
iPhone, though in this case I'm referring to playing music using this cable to
my Denon AVR2113, similar issues may arise with using the iPhone in this way
with other pieces of equipment.

Whilst I'm able to charge my iPhone 5 from the Denon AVR2113 Surround-Sound
receiver it would appear the music playing functionality does not work.

At one point when I connected the iPhone 5 to the Receiver using the USB cable
I got a popup warning on the iPhone that the connected accessary was not a
standard accessary.

This is all very interesting as I had no problems whatever playing music from
the older iPhone 4S connected to the Receiver using the USB to 30 pin dock
connector cable as supplied with the phone, I have no problems whatever in
playing music from the older iPod Touch Forth generation connected to the
Receiver using the supplied USB to 30 pin Dock Connector cable etc.

So what to do now? Well I'm off to the web controller Interface of the Receiver
with Safari on the iPhone to activate the Firmware Update item in the Setup
menu to see if any firmware updates are available for the Receiver and if that
doesn't solve the problem? Well time to consult my friend Google <smile>.

This problem of course is just a minor annoyance and irritation given that the
Receiver has airPlay functionality thus I can stream my music from my iPhone 5
directly to the Receiver.
