Sean, The problem is that there is no one specific cause for busy messages. They can be caused by large folders, particularly in column view. How large is your documents folder, or how many files does it have? I am using an upgraded copy of Mavrics and notice no consistent Finder busy messages. Perhaps your account migration is somehow responsible. Have you tried creating a new one from scratch and testing Finder with it? Best, Zack.
