The good thing about all this is that AirPlay devices of reasonable quality for acceptable prices are now starting to make their appearance in the market place and we're also seeing some innovation.
It wasn't all that long ago when portable AirPlay devices were totally unheard of, I bought a Bose Soundlink Air AirPlay device for its portability, it can run from mains and battery power. Since that time I've seen a couple of other portable AirPlay systems come onto the market though I don't know how good they are, Pioneer for example make one.
