Thanks for this most helpful message. This has indeed been a daunting task and 
I’m grateful for all the info.
Mac the Ripper does appear difficult to acquire at best after looking through 
info on the forums. But Mac DVD Ripper Pro appears to work quite well based on 
the demo and I’m likely to purchase it. I’ve also downloaded the DVD player 
listed below but haven’t tried that out yet. 
MDRP does let you look at individual titles on the DVD which has perhaps been 
the greatest challenge in this. There are a few unlabeled elements but I think 
most also exist in the menu. I’m going to verify that on friday with a 
co-worker.
