Hi, I don’t know about you but I just looked on an iPad that was not updated 
quite yet I just did it myself for a friend and yes it does show that way here 
too.  It shows a specific amount of apps with in the folder, but it has like 2 
pages not all in one area so if lets say I wanted to see the calculator  app it 
would show it in the second page.
