I didn't say it didn't work. It does, but, just don't get Wine from the link in that readme.

Actually, the Readme was a bit backwards as well on a few of the steps where to place certain files. After following the directions, once I got a safe version of Wine installed, it didn't work. Upon closer observation, I saw why and realized the directions were a little out of place. Once I corrected the problem, it worked, but not very reliably, which I honestly suspected. It crashes at total random on my end. So yeah, I think the port has potential, but I don't think it's ready for prime use, and probably never will be. LOL!

Chris.

I was *really* looking forward to trying it out, but thanks for the heads up. Personally I think Alex is good enough, along with the other voices on my Mac.

That's exactly, Sarah, what I thought of when I read the readme. You read my mind!

Hopefully, you all got my other message about the infected file.

I read the directions and it looks way too complex for me to try. I did have wine installed once, and on once.

the catch is this, you need to have the server running. I wonder what happens if you forget to switch voice and accidental close out the server. Will it revert to what ever voice you had before switching to read?

take care.
