Hello Juanita,

For VoiceOver on the MacBook Pro, if Command-F5 or Fn-Command-F5 does not work,
you may need your daughter to set up a separate account for you, so VoiceOver
can be configured to come up automatically, or else have her configure the
system preference settings under Accessibility for her account, so that you can
easily bring up VoiceOver with Command-F5. As others have said, you may need
to know where you are in the login process to get VoiceOver to turn on.

You asked:
We have a wireless HP printer and two Macs. We recently got a new router.
Since then, we have not been able to print wirelessly. I know it has to do
with changing the network name. How do you change the network name and
password. The printer is trying to use our old info. My sighted daughter will
be the one setting this up. We tried to run the software from disc but it
doesn't support 10.9.

For the HP-specific part of your question, there are support web pages on
updating the printer drivers for Mavericks using Apple's Software Update, and
also on replacing a router for their wireless printers. Since the release of
Mavericks, HP has been distributing drivers through Apple's Software Update.
I've read that for some all-in-one printers the Scanner drivers do not yet
resolve issues with Scanning that is done without using the HP-specific
software.

Here is the link for OS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on
a Mac:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03967522&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

HP has an instruction page on replacing a router for their wireless printers:
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/wireless-printing-center/reconfiguring-system-help3.html

After navigating to "heading level 2 Replacing Your Wireless Router", navigate
to the in-page link for "Changing wireless settings" and activate it (double
tap on an iOS device or VO-Space on a Mac). Note that they say you may have to
unplug the power cord from your modem and wait at least 30 minutes for the
modem to reset. If you have difficulties you might have to set the device up
as though it were a new printer, by connecting with an ethernet cable directly
to the modem of your Internet Service Provider. Also, some HP printers like
their newer AirPrint printers may have a Wireless Setup Wizard that can be
accessed from the printer's control panel. That process is not accessible,
but your daughter should be able to run this, if necessary.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
