I think this has been an issue since mavericks as mine used to take 30 seconds, 
now it takes 4 and tha't with all drives except my internal connected. So yeah 
I think it has some thing to do with the way items re loved in. According to 
tinker tool,  apple modified the way  that log in items are started,  you 
cannot choose what order they are started in, but all log in items are started 
at the eact same time thereby, to me, producing a lot of drag when the system 
starts. I'm sure her are KB articles and tech papers and all of that stuff on 
that subject, so yeah I think it is a mavericks issue.

btw memory keeper is accessible 100 percent of the way. I use it. how ever it 
will not hep on start up as that's when your paging file is cleared.
