We have a Macbook and it has been downgraded to Mountain Lion by our Apple store. We have set up mail and all is well, but the notification center will not stop coming up constantly. We have removed mail from it and we have removed it from the extras menu, orhidden it the way System preferences has described. It will not go away. You can't use mail if it is constantly interrupting.
