Hello John,

Thanks for your help. Originally saw a new application called emboss and didn’t
think to look further. After your message I looked and found the actual
application louis. So I am now making progress.

As the embosser works from the braille lite via the parallel port I need to
switch it over to serial connection. I have found from Index a manual for Basic
V1 which sounds like this model. It has a recessed switch low down on the back
panel. Not easy to get at. That I need to switch to serial connection. I
couldn’t reach properly and while it is working with the lite I don’t want to
mess it up yet.

I have been copying files onto a floppy and feeding them to the embosser via
the lite. What I am trying to do is to braille out is track listings for vinyl
records. What I am finding is that louis ignores my carriage returns and
doesn’t keep a list format. Should I be able to do this via Louis? Or do I need
to spend money on an expensive software package?

Your comments are appreciated.

Gena
