I also noticed that OS X comes with both Emacs and Vim editors pre-installed. Whichever side you're on in the Emacs vs. Vi text editor debate, you're covered! The pre-installed Emacs is out of date, and for those who care, it's the terminal version, not the full graphical application. I use LaTeX and a text editor instead of a word processor, unless I have to edit a document collaboratively with word processor users. LaTeX does not come pre-installed on the Mac, but you can download MacTeX. Unfortunately, the installer isn't very accessible. Once it's installed, though, pdflatex and other TeX tools are available in /usr/texbin which is automatically added to your search path. <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>.
