Hello Juaanita, I’m not aware of any specific tutorials, but the “FineReader Help” item in the App’s Help menu gives a pretty good overview of the various options and steps involved in scanning or importing and converting documents. Are there specific steps you are having trouble with?
Also, you mentioned wishing there was a Mac version of K1000. Have you tried Kurzweil K3000? There is a Mac version of K3000 and, while it is designed for folks with low-vision, dyslexia and other print disabilities not related to total blindness, I’ve found that much of the K3000 application can be accessed with keyboard shortcuts and menu options. It will import PDF files and OCR them if necessary, import from a scanner using TWAIN drivers, and read out loud from within the app instead of needing to open the resulting scan in a different app for reading. Of course, like it’s K1000 sibling, it is not inexpensive and is priced significantly higher than either ABBYY FineReader Pro or Docuscan Plus.
