It is definitely not security related as I have installed several non app store apps without any problem. For some reason Vienna just does not respond and open on my iMac when I try to open it. I rare-downloaded the app but that did not help.
I reinstalled Mavericks this morning for other reasons and in general everything is quite snappy and working well at the moment apart from Vienna so I guess I just have to give it a miss.
