Regarding the voice over verbosity this is set to high and yet in Menus I do
not hear the keyboard or voice over commands to carry out an action. I
thought that these shortcut keys are listed as well as the menu items, am I
wrong?

First I will answer the questions in reverse order.
To answer the second question If you are deleting zoom text after pressing
command delete you have to enter you’re password.
Remember enter the password you have used to set up the computer.
Now you’re name should already be entered for you so just vo right arrow to
the password security text field and then enter the password and then press
enter to delete it.
Now to answer the first question regarding the menus.
If you go to voiceover utility with vo f 8.
Then press command 2 to go in to verbosity.
Next tab to the default verbosity menu.
Then check if the low verbosity option is checked or not.
If it is change it to high.
