Hello Andy,

Option-e gives an accute accent as a dead key, so you can type any appropriate 
lettre afterwards and the accute accent will be applied to it. This is true of 
all the other accents I gave you.

However, if you’re typing a lot of Spanish, why not add the Spanish keyboard 
layout in System preferences so that you can switch to it when you need it? 
This is what I do for French, but sometimes, I just can’t be bothered to switch 
my brain over to thinking in the azerty layout which is why I’m so familiar 
with all those accents on a British keyboard.
