Small Dog often has USB units for about $130 US. LaCie or Que are good
drives. Go for that and worry about Firewire when you get it. The min.
you'll pay now for a USB/Firewire drive is about $300 US. In a year,
when you want Firewire, you'll be able to get a faster dedicated drive
for the difference in price. Also, the MTBF for burners is much lower
than regular drives, therefore planning to keep one for a long time is
misguided from the outset.
