Greetings all.
Recently I purchased an (old) Optical drive (Mitsubishi 230mb) and
installed it on my 9600 in teh SCSI chain. The drive powers up, spins the
disc(s), but won't show up on the desktop. I have tried various SCSI IDs
to no avail, and other devices (with the same SCSI ID) plugged in instead
of the optical work fine. This would appear to me to rule out the cable
and a SCSI ID conflict.
I have therefore thought it may be a driver issue. Does anyone know if I
should need a special driver for the optical? Mitsubishi doesn't have one
posted that I could find, and the drive is old, so I won't expect a miracle
when they finally get around to responding to my email request. I would
appreciate any comments. Thanks.
