I want to first say that I'm sorry I indirectly contributed to starting this
thread. In no way was I making fun of Will or poking at him. I actually
appreciate his enthusiasm - it's kind of refreshing.

Realising that he was younger, and probably hasn't bought MS Word yet (to
add spell checking to Outlook), I thought I would point out my favourite,
free, spellchecker.

Will, if you were insulted by my comment, I apologise. While I side with
Shawn on the importance of grammar and spelling in e-mails, it really
doesn't matter, nor does it change what I personally think of you.

Now to bring this back to Macs (at least a little) I'm going to take issue
with Mark's comment that I quoted at the start.

Back when I was a newbie on the Quadlist, I got a lot of help, advice and
pointers from the long-term users on the list. One of the reasons I've
remained loyal to Macs was some of those first experiences there. I was
impressed at the feeling of community, and the helpfulness of more
experienced users.

In appreciation of that, and to repay the "debt" I owe those folks, I've
kept on several lists, trying to help people out where I can. I think you'll
find quite a few people on various Mac lists feel the same way.

So Mark's comment might be true in other places, but I think on Mac lists,
the general feeling I have is that we are helping each other, and
contributing to our community.

Cheers - Smumpkin Steve
