Which furthers my point that Apple's QA has suffered in the past few years.

*Never* be the first to install *any* Apple software without making sure
you have a full, complete and recent backup of your data. If you don't and
something goes wrong, you'll get *zero* sympathy.

If you don't have a backup, wait a week or two before installing the
software. This is a perfect example - there's absolutely *no* reason for
anyone to rush out and download iTunes 2 right away.
