I don't get your point. And no Mac browser I have used-and I've used them
all-does this. If there's an option for it, I am glad that it's never been
enabled. As for open a link in a new browser window, that works as expected
on both platforms. Remember, I was referring to just opening a new BLANK
browser window and typing in a NEW URL, or accessing a bookmark. When you do
this in Windows (CNTRL+N), the new window opens with the content of the old
window. ICK!! Plus, even on a 2GHz P4, creating a new window or document is
a stilted, part-by-part process. The window's borders kinda sorta appear...
And then the rest of the components of the window stagger into place. Real
skanky, man! Even on smokin' hardware like that.

Yup, I'm aware of Command+click. But, I want tabbed browsing in Safari.
Until then, I use Shift+Command+click to open a link in a new window in THE
BACKGROUND (crucial for my lining up a wad of articles at macsurfer.com). I
was wondering if there is a key command to open a link in a new window
within IE for Windows. Sad to hear your confirmation that it doesn't exist.
You know, Windows guys who diss Macs for the one button mouse seem to
happily ignore the fact that TEN FINGERS are BETTER than one cursor.
