That at least doesn't sound likely - certainly they should work in anything up to 9.2.2. And since you said you have an iMac, then your peripherals are all USB, right? Then there's a good chance they'll work with 10.2. A lot of this talk running around about OS X not supporting certain peripherals is from earlier days - more and more drivers are being written for X all the time.
