Hey stephen:

by any two-way satellite connection.

We put in a Direcway Starband Hughes two way satellite, which uses only a PC
to allow you to connect, via proxy. Fast download, browsing speed was
acceptable, but upload and sending attachments via email was *terrible* to
the extreme. It killed more than 50% of my uploads in transit.

Then this past weekend I worked as tech coordinator for a fishing
tournament, where we uploaded our results via LincSat two-way connection (
which is also PC-only, but does act as a DHCP/router for a whole network
seamlessly). It was stable, but speeds were disappointing for browsing and
email -- downloads, however, were very fast once they stabilized.

I have no experience with the XpressVu package (one-way/phone line combo).

Hope that helps!

Lincoln
