I recently got a semi-wireless network going at my place: my G4/450 running OS X, and an 8100 with a G3/266 upgrade running OS 9. Because the 8100 has Nubus slots instead of PCI, I can't add USB to it for wireless. So, I bought a wireless router that also had some Ethernet ports, moved my cable modem to the 8100, connected the 8100 to the router via Ethernet, and connected my G4 wirelessly via USB.
The beauty of this for me, was that I found the router and USB wireless adaptor refurbed at blowout prices at a Radio Shack Clearance Center. Got 'em both for around $70.00 (Belkin gear) -- Mac Canada is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
