You'll get phony emails and 'announcements' etc. Paypal will always address you by name not by using the term 'account holder' or things like that.

When you log onto Ebay, your account there is tied into your account at Paypal, since they are both owned by Ebay. When someone goes to pay for one of your items, they simply click on Pay for Item, and their Paypal account pays your Paypal account. After that, and someone correct me if I am wrong, the money sits in your account until you take it out and this is the point at which Paypal nicks you for some percentage points.
Some people will only accept Paypal which makes me think that any other way of getting paid for something has disadvantages. It is a lot simpler than purchasing a money order since it's all done online and it's backed up by Ebay. Good luck!
