Well, the currency right now (at the HSBC bank) declares that $500 US is $618.67 - I wouldn't exactly call it screwed, especially when you factor in the shipping. The who turning point for the Mac Mini is the fact that you can go down to future shop and buy that 15$ keyboard and mouse combo. It's for people on a budget - the Apple keyboard is among the most expensive you can buy, and now you're not being forced to buy it.

Update: Apple store still bogged down on my iPod Shuffle. I haven't even entered in my CC# yet. *sigh*

I've had an iBook g4 for some time now, and i'm sticking with it. I have marriage vows to think about - however, the Mac Mini is good news. Now I can tell my friends that they can experience a mac for $630, which is a far cry from $1,300 for an iBook. I expect these suckers to sell like hotcakes.

At 629 they are screwing Cdns on the exchange as they do with the iPod and after you add a KB & mouse and monitor it is no longer a far cry from an iBook

Now, if only the Canada iPod store would stop being so bogged down w/orders. I want to order my iPod shuffle!
