Hi Everyone,
I wrote a couple of weeks ago about my error in partitioning my hard drive and my worries about how to reassemble it into one larger drive. Almost all suggestions were valuable. Thanks to all.
I finally decided to buy an external DVD drive as I have other uses for that. I had planned to just copy the applications and programs to my DVD and then, reformat the drive, reinstall a clean OX X from my CDs, and then update the system before reinstalling all software.
A friend, however, (from the dark side) said that it may not work as many programs put stuff into the system ans when I delete, reformat and update, that will be lost. Thus, he says. I can't just recopy my programs back. He says they won't run. Is he right? Can I not use my DVD this way?
Obviously, I need advice.
