I don't know how the Toronto area is, but I have found that the
local (Peterborough) <http://freecycle.org/> group is a good place to
dispose of old equipment without having it drop into the landfill.
"Craig's List" has a Toronto section, which might be good to
advertise cheap or free stuff too: <http://toronto.craigslist.org/>
<http://ebay.ca/> has the ability to list things by postal code and
in major cities like Toronto so that you could specify things to be "pick
up only", and people searching for stuff near themselves would be able to
find you. If you start the listing at $0.01 and put "Toronto pickup" in the
description, you could find some local interest.
