The main reason I wanted to buy iWork was for the easy integration between Keynote 2 and PowerPoint. While I loathe PowerPoint, I was told I would have to create PowerPoint presentations in the near future. If can create the whole presentation in Keynote and just export to PowerPoint, I would be very happy.
Short answer....
You won't be very happy. You will have to do some editing in PowerPoint. Although, it will be minimal and you can probably learn what to avoid to reduce it to near 0.
Pages is a very nice simple to use layout program that generates very impressive looking documents.
I think that if you really only want it for the new keynote only you can assess what features make it worth it to you. I would say that for Keynote as an upgrade it isn't worth it to me. However, if you are looking to purchase software to do the task of Keynote and Pages then iWork is a definite bargain.
