Personally, for now I'm sticking with my lowly but reliable Dlink B
wireless router since there are a whole raft of new items coming out
in the near future. G is good for streaming around the house but if
you just use the 'net then B is already faster than any broadband
connection.

I actually saw the DLink routers in London Drugs last night. How
easy are those to set up ?
I ask, not because I am that technologically challenged, but because
I just don't need the hassle of messing around for hours trying to
get it set up and sorted out.
I mainly want a router so that I can access the net away from my desk
- music streaming is not that important, nor is printing remotely.
I just don't want to be tied to my cable modem umbilical cord when
using the net. Security is important to me to some degree as well -
hoping the security settings are clear.
Are the instructions that come with the DLink routers pretty straight
forward ?

Yeah, pretty easy to set up but the SMC I had was easier but it wasn't
wireless. I got the Dlink on a deal and it does ok for now. They all
have wizards and the rest of it is kind of common sense mixed with trial
and error. Coverage gets me outside in the backyard so it's fine. As for
security, the password and encryption is easy to set up, although the
guide isn't much help. You can always turn off file sharing, or don't
have a shared folder, whichever works on a Mac but encryption works
well. I use it on my 3400c as well as a PC so if you need any help, let
me know.
