This happened when I hit the reply button on the last email I had received from the mac-women list - I didn't notice that the reply did not go to the list, but to the author of the last message in my mac-women mailbox. Sorry to have spooked you Elaine, can't be too careful. And thanks for posting it, as I have now received responses! :-)

Miraz, your suggestion is excellent, except that I am transcribing web pages in a browser and cannot edit pages in the browser. I could copy and paste them into a text editor and go from there, but that will be very time consuming due to table formatting issues and considering the number of individual web pages I deal with. Is there a web browser that will allow editing on the fly?

Thanks
Donna

Good morning Mac Women :-)))

Received this truly weird mail a couple of days ago. Have not replied. I made a guess that it might be someone on Mac Woman (there's a reference to Yahoo groups in the long header) who had got her settings awry and the post would turn up on the Digest. It hasn't so I'm totally at a loss to know how she got my address. If it's spam, then it seems innocent enough but I still don't want to reply in case it some kind of bait for a spammer. Apart from the fact I don't know the answer to her question, any advice on dealing (or ignoring) it will be welcome.

I am in the process of transcribing data from web pages. I wonder if there is any software that will put a tag, or some such thing, on the text I am working on when I have to shut down for the night. Sort of like making a checkmark on the page, so that when I startup the computer the next day I can find where I left off.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Ye godz, now Apple is going down that track ...

I have found that the apple.com site has a huge number of fora for all kinds of issues. They take a bit of finding but so far I've found answers to some issues I couldn't get info on elsewhere. You got to the 'support' tab and do some trawling from there.

Meanwhile - have a great weekend :-)))
