It all depends on your needs.
Personally, I did try a few in the past for my PowerBook 12":
A Samsung, a Sony and a Viewsonic.
The Samsung look blueish, so I return it to the store for that
reason. Was about 500$. 19".
The Sony has the Sony technology, which make it like a mirror where I
can see myself, I hated that. For the colour and picture resolution,
it was the best I tried so far. Was about 600$. 19".
The Viewsonic, I never was able to achieve a colour calibration that
matches the PB display. And, worst of it, I received it with 3-4 dead
pixels out of the box. This one was a VP2000, was about 800$.
So, if you just want a screen for a screen, any of those can fits
your needs, but if you're thinking about a specific need, that may
not be it. I think that to answer your question, you should also ask
yourself: what do you want to do with it?
In my case, I came to realize that maybe the best choice is the Apple
20". I haven't bought it yet. I may choose, in fact, to buy a new
iMac G5 20" for home and keep the PB for travel. That will give me a
more powerful computer for when I need it, and still give me a
portable computer for the road. Then I'll just have to find a way to
sync Mail, Safari and some other stuff around.
Hope this help.

Recommendations for reasonably-priced LCDs with a DVI connection I
can use on my Titanium PowerBook? Native 1600 resolution would be
nice but not essential.
Also, question I should already know the answer to: DVI and ADC
connectors are two different things, right? And all I need is a(n
overpriced) DVI cable?
