I think the previous poster might have been referring to bandwidth
useage, not size of e-mails. Sympatico has no bandwidth limit, whereas
cogeco (our cable alternative) has one.

When I switched back to back to sympatico, I ran cogeco cable and
sympatico at the same time for about a month. Sympatico's high speed
was considerably faster than Cogeco's basic service, at least in our
neck of the woods.

And no bandwidth cap.

As far as large e-mail attachments, I prefer to use an ftp server as
it is more reliable (for me anyways) than wondering whether the e-mail
recipient will be able to receive the large attachment.
