Since, as Martin aka Duggie has noted, there's a definite increase in the traffic on this list, I'd like to remind everybody of a minor point of netiquette to help keep things moving smoothly. There hasn't been a problem, and this should help keep at least one problem from developing.
I don't know about you, but it drives me buggy when a thread goes far afield from the original subject line. I've learned on Usenet that I can only count on the first dozen messages or so to actually deal with the subject mentioned. After that, it could go anywhere. The simple suggestion is the one that I've done in some of my last few messages; if the subject matter has changed, someone could take the initiative to use a new subject line in a format like "What We're Talking About Now (Was: The Old Subject Line)". Subsequent followups can drop the "Was" section, but at least the subject line is current, and we know where it originated. Doesn't sound like rocket science to me, and I think it'll help everybody. BTW, don't want to be stepping on anyone's toes here; does the group have an in-house moderator, or is our dear ListMom the only "official" moderator of the group?
