Hi Ed,
Disappointing! Apple can be a pain in the butt at times for third
party support. I bought the Pulsar two years ago as a value for money
alternative to their pricey 604's like the 8600 and the 9600 - which
still sell for silly money given their age.
Upgrading to G4 would be a logical step but impossible to justify
for the money involved unless you earn money from the kit - which I don't
- so I won't.
Looks like I'll just have to go with the flow and convert to PC
after ten years of maccing as the software upgrade path in my area of
digital imaging is gradually shrinking. Matlab 5 is the last version for
the Mac OS and a few other maths software manufacturers are reluctant to
write for a system which is heading Unix as they already have Unix
versions.
I may try Unix in the form of SGI first though.

     regards
     Pete
