I've tried Alan's suggestion of using Flash, with elbow grease, and it worked fine on the LCIII, and a toothbrush got the dirt out of the grooves quite well. However, the Select 360 still looks dirty (not to mention yellow). I think my next step will be to dismantle the plastics and put them in the dishwasher. Perhaps hot water is what will make the difference.
As for Clorox, if that is a bleach solution, then I prefer to abstain until I find an oxygen-based product to try and remove the awful yellowing. >If the machine has a cassette why does it need a manual feed too? To print >envelopes? Can't it manage without a manual feed? What I was refering to here is the fact that the manual feed tray is broken and will not stay up unless you use tape. It is the tray you put flat when printing on thicker paper to avoid it bending in the printer mechanism. I've had a chat with VIS (applemacparts) but they haven't found a replacement yet. As for the LCIII, it has only the 4Mb onboard memory right now. I'm looking for a 32Mb 72-pin FP module on eBay/Yahoo but none has materialised yet. I've put 7.5.3 for the time being but even with 32-bit memory on, the streamlined system still takes 3.5Mb, not leaving much for anything else to run. Word 4 and TeachText are happy with that amount but that's about it. I'm still puzzle as to why my 7.1 floppy set will not installed on the LCIII, even with System Enabler 003 on the Install disk.
