Mac OS 8 is available on ebay most days. The update to 8.1 can be found on old cover disks of Macworld etc. Try updating to 7.6 as this is far more stable on a Q630. Avoid the temptation to upgrade the motherboard to a 5200 as most come with a faulty Rom chip on the second hand market - unless someone else knows different...
