You were right about the nightmare - definitely user-unfriendly. I got the 1200 back 
together with most of the little plastic tabs still intact, the blotter rinsed and 
dried, and still the thing won't print. Of course, the cartridge has been in and out a 
few times now and I know they're tempermental about that. However, I grudge buying 
another just to confirm it still doesn't work, so if anyone wants a Stylewriter 1200 
for spares or repair for the cost of postage, contact me offlist.
