I'm 56 soon (July 27 in case anyone wants to send me a 17" PowerBook to
replace my ageing 3400c).

My first encounter with Apple was the 'pre-historic' Lisa*, 20 years ago. I
remember thinking "Mmmm.. well built, good looking - but.... _HOW_ much????"

The 'Dark Side' continued to hold me firmly in its grip for two more years,
until the little 512k Mac blew me away. "Gotta have one" I drooled. By the
time I'd saved up the readies, the Mac Plus had hit these shores - so that
became my first ever Mac (Blindingly fast 8 MHz processor, Massive 1 Mb RAM
- and a snip at 1,700 - you young 'uns don't know you're born!)

The rest is history, as they say. I'm now surrounded by Macs (from LC II to
G4 tower) 20-odd in all, counting redundant machines. (not 'dead' Chris;
bits may fall off, but I've never had a Mac 'die' on me)

PS: My wife uses a PowerBook, my daughters (6 and 10) share a PowerMac and
my sons (13 and 15) a maxed-out B&W G3

* The 'Lisa' had a Mouse and a Graphical User Interface 20 years ago! (when
PCs still had white text on green screens!)
