Sometimes a bit of old technology is can help! :) Suggest you forget emails and phone calls. Emails are far too informal and phone calls get forgotten or you get sent around in circles.
If you are having no luck with the editor/magazine, go to the top, i.e. find out who the owner/publisher is (probably a big firm with other titles - afraid I don't read MacFormat), call their head office and ask whoever answers the phone for the name of the managing director of the company and their postal address. Then compose a letter to the head honcho outlining what the deal was and the amount of to-ing and fro-ing you have had since, the amount of time that has passed, etc., etc. Say you have written to him/her because you've had no joy with the people at the magazine and finally ask (politely) what he/she intends to do about it. Print it out, shove it in an envelope and post it. Recorded delivery will get you a signature on receipt if you want to check delivery. Often a piece of paper landing on the desk of someone in authority will do the trick when everything else seems to disappear into thin air. Perhaps as Heather said they are just disorganised. I wouldn't be surprised.... BTW Does anyone else find that they always have to chase for the free software, book or whatever offered as an incentive with a new or extended subscription to a magazine? Or is it just me they're picking on??!!
