Good to see such strong opinions being represented. Everyone is entitled to
a viewpoint, no? I personally feel that if there are such strong opinions
being portrayed then that must mean the design is controversial and
therefore not like the other cheap PC cases out there. (IMHO)

I have been torn about the style of the case myself but as it is different I
enjoy the change. I wonder if Apple has deliberately chosen this style case
for the next generation so that they would draw more of the Unix crowd to
the platform. One could argue that they are trying to move away from the
'cute but not to be taken seriously' look of the past (not my opinion but
that of the techno geeks from the hardcore hacker background...) to a
serious and less passionate look. This could indeed make a difference to the
new users and allow us to enjoy the benefit of drawing the majority away
from the 'dark side'. I do personally hope that Apple gets off the 'metal'
look soon and that they will always have some of the more extreme designs
for the wild ones amongst us...

But what do I know! Had to rant with the rest of you...

Cheers,

Richard
