Hi,
For 100 you may get a used high end scsi Umax Powerlook or Mirage
from ebay or for less you could begin with an Astra 2400s - also Umax and
scsi. I have had an Astra 2400s (s for scsi) for a couple of years now
and it works very well with 9.2.2 and Umax's high end software -
MagicScan 4.5+ ( a very good scanning interface with multiscan capability
but I don't know about OSX compatability). I don't have the tranny
adapter but I've never really needed one.
I would go for scsi or firewire as usb is too slow for images - I
have a scsi/usb converter which I sometimes use with my Kodak DCS cameras
when I'm too lazy to shutdown and connect the scsi and there is a very
noticeable drop in performance with usb compared to scsi.
Pete - down the road in Chesterfield....
