Hi All I'm having problems installing/upgrading OS 8.6 on a 233 Imac to OS 9.1.
When I go into the options to either Upgrade or Install from the cd it is not possible to get past the drive selection screen, the button to continue with the insallation is still greyed out, only the go back button is active. In the details box it says that OS 9 is required to install this disc, but in the before you install Readme it says: " If you are upgrading from Mac OS 8.1 or earlier, you cannot perform the insatllation unless you start up from Mac OS 8.5 or later." The CD I have says it is OS9 featuring Sherlock2, in small print version 9.1. across the disc in bold " Mac OS 9.1 Update CD " I tried to hold down C when booting having turned off the extensions, the computer then seems unable to find the CD drive? Have I got the wrong OS 9 disc? Has anybody ant ideas, need to upgrade to use USB devices.
