A silly question probably but: Do you need to use Toast? If the iMac can see it and probably burn using the Apple software, is it not just a case of using different software? I personally never use Toast which I have just chucked off my computer and I find the Apple stuff perfectly adequate.

I have a Lite-On FireWire CDRW drive which I cannot get to work in OS X, on a flat panel G4 iMac. The drive is seen in the profiler, but simply doesn't show up as a recognised drive in the Toast Titanium preferences. I can only assume that some special driver is needed, which I can't find.
Thinking that all might not be totally lost, I bought a PCI FireWire card and stuck it into a 5500, running OS 9.2.2 - what a surprise! The PCI card isn't recognised either! Imagine that it needs yet another driver, before it will fail to see the Lite-On!
Getting stuck in a bit of a loop here. Would very much appreciate any advice. I don't care whether the Lite-On works in OS X or OS 9 - just as long as it works somewhere!
